    1916-2002
       Nacido en Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, fue proyeccionista en una sala de cine que poseia la familia de su esposa. Graduado en Administracion de Empresas en la Universidad de Pittsburgh, en 1952 produjo Bwana, diablo de la selva (Bwana Devil, Arch Obo ler), primera pelicula en el efimero sistema tridimensional 3-D surgido en los anos 50. Pink patento, tambien, otros sistemas de proyeccion cinematografica mas efimeros si cabe, pero el hecho demuestra su inquietud como hombre de cine. Pasa por ser el descubridor de Dustin Hoffman, a quien hizo trabajar en la coproduccion hispano-italiana-norteamericana Madigan’s Millions/Un dollaro per 7 vigliacchi/El mi llon de Madigan, dirigida por Giorgio Gentili. La pelicula se estreno en 1969, con posterioridad al estreno de El graduado (The Graduate, Mike Nichols, 1967), y al amparo del exito de esta. Autor de seis largometrajes, los tres ultimos westerns o, mas propiamente, spaghetti-westerns, este singular personaje, que vivio en Espana y en Dinamarca, poco aporta a la historia de un genero que esta muy por encima de el. En realidad, ninguno de sus tres westerns es un western americano, pero si lo es el director, por lo que ha parecido conveniente incluirlo aqui.
